Given the recent legislative reforms imposed by the Minister of Health, it will be difficult to continue offering the various urological services in the office in such a context. So it is with regret that we inform you that starting September 5 2017, Dr. Carlos Marois will be a urologist who no longer is registered with the RAMQ. In addition, he will no longer be affiliated with the Verdun hospital. As such, he will not be able to claim the payment of the RAMQ for his fees.
This means that when you will have recourse to his professional services, you will have to pay him directly the cost of the services he will provide you. If this is the case, you should be aware that you will not be able to request or obtain from the RAMQ, the reimbursement of the cost of the services you have paid.
For patients who wish to continue with another urologist registered in the RAMQ: you can request a copy of your medical file at no cost as well as a reference to see another urologist. In addition, your prescriptions will be renewed until March 5, 2018.
For patients who wish to continue with Dr. Marois: the price of a follow-‐up visit will be $ 150 and will include, if necessary, a urinary flowmetry test. However, until March 4 2018, the price will be maintained at $ 100 for patients who have already taken an annual follow-‐up appointment for benign prostatic hypertrophy.
