Notice of Non Registration

Notice of Non Registration With the Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec (RAMQ)

Given the recent legislative reforms imposed by the Minister of Health, it will be difficult to continue offering the various urological services in the office in such a context. So it is with regret that we inform you that starting September 5 2017, Dr. Carlos Marois will be a urologist who no longer is registered with the RAMQ. In addition, he will no longer be affiliated with the Verdun hospital. As such, he will not be able to claim the payment of the RAMQ for his fees.

This means that when you will have recourse to his professional services, you will have to pay him directly the cost of the services he will provide you. If this is the case, you should be aware that you will not be able to request or obtain from the RAMQ, the reimbursement of the cost of the services you have paid.

For patients who wish to continue with another urologist registered in the RAMQ: you can request a copy of your medical file at no cost as well as a reference to see another urologist. In addition, your prescriptions will be renewed until March 5, 2018.

For patients who wish to continue with Dr. Marois: the price of a follow-‐up visit will be $ 150 and will include, if necessary, a urinary flowmetry test. However, until March 4 2018, the price will be maintained at $ 100 for patients who have already taken an annual follow-‐up appointment for benign prostatic hypertrophy.

The services offered at the offices in Verdun and Greenfield Park, as well as in Quebec will be:

  • New consultations
  • Follow-‐up appointments
  • Diagnostic tests (e.g. cystoscopy, prostate ultrasound, etc.)
  • Minor surgeries (e.g. vasectomy, circumcision, cutaneous excision of scrotal lesions)

The services offered only at the office in Verdun will be:

  • Minor surgeries requiring special equipment (vasovasostomy, cure of hydrocele)

The services offered only at the Centre Métropolitain de Chirurgie will be:

  • Surgery in a private operating room with general and spinal anaesthesia
  • TURP, urethropexy TOT, flexible and rigid ureteroscopy and penile prosthesis

Thank you for your understanding and loyalty!

Would you like to make an appointment, or do you have any questions? Write to us and we will get back to you as soon as possible!

Dr. Marois is a urologist who is not a member of the Régie d’Assurance Maladie du Québec (RAMQ). As such, the clinic can not claim the RAMQ for the payment of his services. If you consult Dr Marois, you must pay for the services rendered.

    Cancellation of appointment:

To ensure the smooth running of the clinic and a minimum of courtesy towards other patients and our staff, we ask you to notify us 48 hours in advance for the cancellation of a consultation, 5 working days in advance for a surgery at the office and 21 working days in advance for a major surgery. If these deadlines are not respected, a cancellation fee of 50% of the service will be charged.

    Change of appointment:

We understand that events occur, so we ask you to provide us with at least a 24-hour notice for any change in their appointment; we will be happy to accommodate you, the best we can. However, if you fail to inform us within this timeframe or do not show up, we will charge a $ 100 fee.

    Thank you for your understanding.
